Midlands Photobooths specialises in the hire of professional retro-styled photo booths for events and functions in Durban, Ballito, Umhlanga, the KZN Midlands and the Drakensberg. We are proud to be part of the Photobooth LAB™ brand.
Being based for the Midlands means Nottingham Road, Howick, Hilton and Pietermaritzburg are a short drive away, and we know the venues — Granny Mouse, Netherwood, Brahman Hills, Fordoun, Haycroft and Providence among them. KZN Midlands Photobooths arrives long before your guests do, and packs down once the last print is in someone’s hand.

Every booth arrives with an attendant who sets up, runs it all night and packs down. You choose the backdrop and we design the print template around your event.
4×6 prints + photostrips
A handcrafted wooden booth with a proper ring flash and instant, unlimited printing. Guests shoot, the print drops, and the digital copy is waiting for them the next morning.
4K video · slow motion
Guests step onto the platform, the arm sweeps around them, and the slow-motion clip lands on their phone before they have stepped off. Best served with canapés.
AI styles · gloss print · seconds
Guests scan the QR code, send a photo straight off their own phone, pick a style and collect a gloss print seconds later. Water-colour paintings are what people queue for.

Our retro-inspired photo booths are the perfect accessory for weddings and canapés, corporate events, birthdays, kids parties, anniversaries, branding and promotional campaigns. KZN Photobooth LAB also offers unlimited printing for the duration of your booking.
High-end Canon and studio equipment keeps your images sharp and the lighting right, and our professional dye-sublimation printers hand the print over in less than 15 seconds. The SPIN 360 sits alongside the booth: guests step onto the platform, the arm sweeps around them, and the slow-motion clip reaches their phone before they have stepped off it.
Our Instant Printing Kiosk turns a guest’s own photograph into artwork while they wait. The water-colour paintings for weddings in KZN are the ones people queue for, with caricature, cartoon, pencil sketch, comic book and pop art alongside them — all printed on the spot from a photo taken minutes earlier.
Every booking includes a friendly booth attendant who runs the booth from setup to pack-down, so nobody in your wedding party ends up troubleshooting a printer.
We offer instant printing for events, which means if you have a photographer, we have the printing solution — instant, on-site printing for any event type. We also work closely with a range of professional photographers to make sure your event is taken care of.
The booths carry touch screens, professional DSLR cameras, studio lighting and top-class dye-sub printers, for super-fast instant printing at every event, every time. Our photobooth printing in KZN runs the same way wherever we go — 4×6 postcards or classic photostrips, on a template designed around your names, theme or branding, so every guest leaves with something in their hand.
The same setup covers golf days, trail runs, cycle events and sports days, where a branded print with a QR code can be handed over minutes after the finish line.
Instant Printing
Our Instant Printer runs on a 19″ touchscreen kiosk, letting you, your guests, and your family print photos on the spot as hi-gloss postcard prints. It’s built for photo printing at canapés — snap something before the ceremony or during drinks and reception, and it’s printed within seconds. Once canapés wind down, the same kiosk can be moved straight into the reception and keeps running for the rest of the night, so guests aren’t just taking photos, they’re walking away with something physical from the day. We have packages for canapés, reception or both. You choose!
We regularly set up at venues around KZN, including Brahman Hills, Netherwood, Providence, Haycroft Farm, Fordoun, and Granny Mouse, among others. If your venue isn’t on that list, we can still bring the kiosk along — it just needs a table, power, and a bit of foot traffic to work.
When you book the kiosk, you choose how many prints you want upfront — think of it as pre-paid prints, with packages up to 500. Guests scan a QR code on the kiosk, then either upload a photo from their phone or pick one that’s already been taken at the event, and the kiosk prints it. No app to install, no queue at a photographer’s laptop — just a phone and a few taps.

Luxury backdrops
We are one of the only companies with these beautiful stretched photobooth backdrops — 2.8m high by 2.8m wide, tensioned flat so there is not a crease behind your guests. There are over thirty designs to choose from, and they are complimentary with any of our photobooth packages.
The neon signs are printed into the backdrop rather than hung in front of it, so what you see is exactly what stands behind the booth. Backdrops are for indoor use only, unless they are set against a wall or similar, and green backdrops are available if you would rather use a green screen.

Yes — the Midlands is our home patch. Nottingham Road, Howick, Hilton and Pietermaritzburg are all close by, and we regularly travel to Durban, Umhlanga, Ballito, the North Coast and the Drakensberg. Travel is quoted separately based on the venue.
Unlimited, for the full duration of your booking. Guests can go back as many times as they like, and everyone in the photo can take a print. There is no per-print charge and no cap.
Under 15 seconds. We use professional dye-sublimation printers, so the print comes out dry, gloss and ready to handle straight away.
Yes. Every booking includes a digital gallery link with all of the photos, GIFs or 360 videos from the event, so you can download and share them afterwards.
